A few of the services we provide to our patients:

Fillings / Bonding

At Glenwood Village Dentistry, we strictly use mercury-free, tooth-colored fillings for the health and well-being of our patients.

A tooth-colored filling is a composite resin made up of a combination of plastic, glass, and silica. The composite resins are mixed and hardened into place, making them look real and natural, just like the other teeth in your mouth. The high quality filling material we use is beautiful enough to be placed on a front (or anterior) teeth and strong enough to be placed on a back (or posterior) tooth.

Crowns

Dental Crowns are more commonly called “caps.”

A crown is a protective shell which can be made of strong ceramics. Cracked, decayed, or otherwise damaged teeth may be repaired by a crown fitted onto them, restoring tooth strength, and returning the original look to the tooth. The procedure begins with a local anesthetic, allowing the dentist to reshape the tooth and prepare it to mold perfectly with the crown. The crown is then securely attached to the tooth, and the tooth strength and beauty is restored.

Root Canals

What is endodontics?

Endodontics focuses on preserving teeth that have become damaged or diseased. Endodontic treatment may be necessary if the inside of your tooth (pulp or root canal) becomes infected or injured. This can be caused by decay, repeated dental procedures, cracks, resorption, or trauma to the mouth. If left untreated, you may experience:

  • Severe pain

  • Discoloration of the tooth

  • Swelling or a draining pimple on the gums

In the majority of cases, your tooth can be saved from extraction through endodontic therapy. The chance of success increases when the problem is diagnosed and treated early. Talk to Dr D’Orazio about treatment if you start noticing the symptoms of an infection listed above.

Oral Surgery

Many people avoid the dentist’s office because they fear oral surgery.

Oral surgery is typically a last resort for Drs. Pinnix and D’Orazio. However, there are certain conditions that demand surgical remedies, such as tooth extraction.

We understand the discomfort associated with surgical procedures in general, but the majority of patients don’t know that most oral surgeries are relatively quick and simple procedures. We can offer laughing gas (nitrous oxide) or a prescription to aid with procedure-related anxiety.

Gum Disease Treatment

What Causes Gum Disease?

Gum disease can be caused by a buildup of tartar and bacteria that can cause swelling and bleeding around the gums, making brushing and flossing a much bigger, and painful, task. Over time, this bacteria releases toxins which lead to loss of the bone that holds your teeth in place. Left untreated, this disease can lead to tooth loss. Our expertly trained dental hygienists are skilled in removing this build to prevent further progression of gum disease. Occasionally, a surgical intervention is needed after this deep cleaning is performed to recontour the bone or fix the gums. If this treatment is warranted, we will review your options in detail with you.
